About Us Meet Our Horses Group Accommodations Quick References What Others Say Directions

Located on the Prospect/Cheshire line, B & R Stables has been providing customers with trail rides for over 30 years. Nestled quietly in the scenic area surrounding Holiday Hill Day Resort, our riding stables are open May 1st - October 31st, 7 days a week weather permitting, for children and adults of all levels of riding.

Trail rides are $50 per person for approximately a one hour trail ride. Rides usually start at 10 AM For those more advanced riders, that would like a more challenging ride, the earlier rides are your ride of choice. Let us know when making your reservation if you have advanced riding skills so that we can put you on the most enjoyable ride for your level.

Horses are available for all levels of riders. Our rides are beginner through advanced depending on rider's abilities. We have horses to accommodate up to 10 riders on each ride, so groups are welcome to come and enjoy themselves together.

Our guides are here to help you experience a fun, exciting, and safe trail ride while your with us. We are very accommodating to our riders and would like to ensure that everyone enjoys themselves while on our horses.

Children are encouraged to come and ride with their parents. They do need to be approximately 10 years of age, unless they have had previous riding experience. Children who have trail ridden before or taken lessons can ride at age 8. Please let us know when making your reservation, if you are bringing children, and if they have ridden before.

B & R Stables also does have a weight limit of approximately 200 pounds. We have horses to suit all types of riders, however, safety is our first priority. Please address this when you are making your reservation, if you think this may be an issue.

Helmets are provided for all riders if you do not have your own. All riders must wear a helmet.

PLEASE NOTE: Reservations are not accepted through email. You must call the riding stable to make reservations for a trail ride. Contact Patti at 203-758-5031 between 8 AM and 6 PM at least one day in advance.
